Toddler injured after putting truck into gear, rolling into pond

LINN COUNTY, Mo. — A northern Missouri toddler was injured when the truck he was in rolled into a pond.

The incident happened around noon Sunday on Major Drive, three miles south of Bucklin, Mo.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a 4-year-old boy was in a parked pickup when he put it into gear.

The truck then rolled into a nearby pond.

The boy suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
