Watch: CEO of Job Creators Network calls tax reform 'a step in the right direction'
With Congress poised to finalize and pass the GOP's plan for tax reform, Sinclair Broadcast Group spoke Thursday with Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of Job Creators Network.
Job Creators Network is a conservative non-profit organization which advocates on behalf of small businesses.
"[This is] history in the making," Ortiz said. "After 31 years they've been trying to do something on this front; finally, a step in the right direction."
The new tax plan covers almost 97 percent of small businesses, Ortiz said. Though it's not perfect, it's an improvement for entrepreneurs across the country.
"I like looking at the bigger picture as a former small business owner," Ortiz said. "I understand life is about compromise. When you look at the House bill being better, the Senate bill being better -- they're both really good bills.
"Are they perfect? No. Nothing in life will be perfect. I think that's what we need to focus on when we get to that compromise."
