Two people killed after truck crosses median, slams into vehicle head-on

SAN ANTONIO - Two people were killed Saturday night after a truck lost control, crossed a median and slammed into another truck head-on.

Authorities were called to South Zarzamora Street and State Highway 16 just before 8:30 p.m for reports of an accident. Police said a truck traveling northbound on South Zarzamora veered out of the highway, lost its tires and struck a truck traveling southbound head-on, killing the driver and another passenger inside. The third person in the southbound vehicle is in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the truck that lost control is also in critical condition, while the two passengers inside sustained minor injuries.

All of the passengers were taken to University Hospital, officials said.
