WASHINGTON (WJLA) — The area around CIA's headquarters in McLean, Virginia is now open following reports of police activity, according to Fairfax County Police.
SkyTrak7 observed a robot typically used for suspicious package investigations being deployed. Once the area had been cleared, nearby roads were opened back up to the public.
An explosive ordnance disposable robot was initially sent to inspect the suspicious object, which was placed on a sidewalk column.
Officials knocked the item off of the column and removed it from the area.
In early May, a similar closure occurred when an FBI agent shot and killed a suspect in the same area.
McLean is about 30 minutes outside Washington D.C.
