Independent San Diego television station KUSI says that it was contacted by CNN Thursday morning for a segment on President Trump's proposed border wall. However, when KUSI's news department offered them a reporter who has covered the topic up close numerous times and would not offer commentary opposing the wall, CNN declined to allow that perspective on its network.

KUSI called out CNN on its newscast Thursday evening.

Instead of using local reporting that offered a perspective that could support a border wall, CNN produced a report Thursday morning from Washington, D.C. based White Correspondent Jim Acosta, who claimed to have found "no national emergency" at a location on the border where he, "found several steel slats down."
