David L. Kirby, 28/Syracuse Police Department

Police have arrested a man after they say he stabbed his sister and her boyfriend Saturday night.

Officers responded to 127 Light Court around 10:40 p.m. Saturday to deal with a domestic incident, Syracuse Police said. They found a 24-year-old woman with stab wounds to the chest and a 28-year-old man who was suffering stab wounds to his back and right arm.

David L. Kirby, 28, was charged with two counts of Assault in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree. Kirby is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.

The woman told investigators she got into an argument with her brother, Kirby, and he ultimately stabbed her. When her boyfriend stepped in to help her, Kirby stabbed him as well.

Both victims were taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening. Kirby suffered a minor injury to his nose, police said.
