After Crashing Stolen Car, Men Carjack Good Samaritan In West Alton Tuesday Night
WEST ALTON, Mo. —
A man who thought he was just helping victims of a car crash became the victim of a carjacking Tuesday night in West Alton, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.
Police say a Toyota Avalon, which was later determined to have been stolen, was speeding and ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 67 and Highway 94. The Toyota t-boned another car. Several people stopped to help, and two men who were in the Toyota offered some of them money to help them get away.
Police say the men then threatened to kill one man in the group if he didn't hand over his pickup truck. The truck was found a few miles away.
Two people who were in the car that was hit by the stolen car were treated for injuries, one was taken to the hospital.
Police are still looking for the suspects. They released a description of both men, and provided a picture of one of them from the scene of the crash.
