Allman Analysis: Should GOP 'Never-Trumpers' Be Worried About Re-Election?
ST. LOUIS —
In the months leading up to the election of President Donald Trump, there were quite a few Republicans who stood up against the populist wave that ushered Trump into the White House. So-called 'Never-Trump' Republicans took what they called a moral stand against Trump, many even publicly supporting Democratic Nominee Hillary Clinton.
As re-election campaigns start to get underway for 2018, these 'Never-Trumpers' are starting to feel the heat. The latest, a member of the Dent political family out of Pennsylvania. The Allman Report talked to Ed Martin, President of the Missouri Eagle Forum Fund, about how the winds of change are blowing in the Republican Party.
In Missouri, Martin says newly-elected Attorney General Josh Hawley represents that populist movement, and that he should ignore establishment Republicans like John Danforth, who have advised candidates to turn away from Trump.
