Mizzou Dismisses Quarterback Maty Mauk From Team

University of Missouri Head Football Coach Barry Odom says Quarterback Maty Mauk is off the team.

In a release Thursday morning, Odom says he met with Mauk and informed him of his dismissal earlier in the day. In the release, Odom says he, "made it clear what our expectations would be moving forward." Odom also says that after talking with several people this week, that "it was clear Maty has failed to live up to those expectations by violating team rules in recent weeks."

Odom also referred to video leaked earlier this week of Mauk allegedly snorting a line of white powder that the person who posted claims is cocaine. Several players came to Mauk's defense, saying the video is from at least two years ago. "It is concerning, but we believe it is from a long time ago. However, Maty's failure to live up to expectations in recent weeks was the reason for this decision."

Odom does not specify what expectations were laid out for Mauk.
