Friend Of Shooter Says He Was "Fed Up" With Current Political Climate
BELLEVILLE, Ill. —
Hours after police say 66-year-old James Hodgkinson of Belleville opened fire on members of Congress and a Capitol Police security detail, a man who says he knew the suspect since high school spoke to reporters about him.
Dale Walsh, also of Belleville, says Hodgkinson was "tired and fed up" with politicians. Walsh says his friend was "not evil". ""He was tired of some of the politics going on," Walsh said outside Hodgkinson's home on Wednesday.
